A$AP Rocky comment in court sparks joke from the judge

A$AP Rocky set the record straight Tuesday on the cleanliness of his house in a humorous exchange during his felony assault trial.

"Your honor, may I say something on the record?" A$AP Rocky asked Superior Judge Mark Arnold. "Usually my house is not that junky, you know what I'm saying? Let's be clear," he said with a laugh.

Arnold replied, "That — that puts a whole new light on the case."

Why is A$AP Rocky on Trial?

A$AP Rocky, whose legal name is Rakim Mayers, has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

The charges stem from a November 2021 incident in Hollywood in which A$AP Rocky allegedly fired a gun at his former friend and fellow A$AP Mob member, A$AP Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron.

A$AP Rocky denies shooting the gun at A$AP Relli and says that the firearm is a starter pistol carried for safety reasons.

Is A$AP Rocky in Jail?

No, A$AP Rocky was released from jail the same day he was arrested in April 2022 on a $550,000 bond.

What To Know

A$AP Rocky's comment Thursday about the state of his West Hollywood home came after photos from inside his residence were shown during LAPD detective Frank Flores' testimony.

The photos were taken during a search of the home following A$AP Rocky's arrest in April 2022. The photos captured cardboard boxes, suitcases, furniture, and home decor spread out throughout a room. Another photo showed a shoe rack near the master bedroom and bathroom.

Flores said investigators found three firearms in the master bedroom of A$AP Rocky's home.
