Brazil has long been recognized as a global leader in cosmetic surgery, with over 3 million procedures performed in 2023 according to ISAPS.

The country accounts for nearly 14 percent of the world's plastic surgeries, drawing patients from around the globe. Known for their expertise in liposuction and body augmentation in particular, Brazilian clinics continue to innovate while maintaining high standards of safety and patient care.

Newsweek and Statista are proud to present Brazil's Best Plastic Surgery Clinics 2025 highlighting over 100 clinics excelling in three popular procedures: breast augmentation, buttock augmentation and liposuction.

The rigorous selection criteria for this ranking included only clinics where surgeries are performed by plastic surgeons employed at the clinic. Clinics specializing solely in reconstructive surgeries or those using affiliated surgeons were excluded. Clinics scored higher if they are certified by Brazil's Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica.

Featured on this list are Hospital Moinhos de Vento, which is recognized for its breast augmentation surgeries; JK Estética Avançada, which specializes in buttock augmentation; and Dall'Ago & Manfrim Cirurgia Plástica, which offers top-notch liposuction.

METHODOLOGY
The first edition of Brazil's Best Plastic Surgery Clinics 2025 ranking awards the leading plastic surgery clinics in Brazil.

Plastic Surgery Clinics were awarded in three cosmetic surgery procedures: Breast Augmentation, Liposuction and Buttock Augmentation. For the first edition of the ranking, 50 plastic surgery clinics were awarded for breast augmentation, 50 for liposuction and 50 for buttock augmentation. In total, 109 individual plastic surgeons were awarded.

Plastic surgery clinics that meet the pre-defined selection criteria were included. Plastic surgery clinics, individual and group practices, or departments within hospitals that specialize in plastic surgery from all over Brazil. The procedures must be performed by plastic surgeons employed by the clinic. Plastic surgery clinics that have the procedures performed exclusively by affiliated plastic surgeons were not considered. Plastic surgery clinics which exclusively offer reconstruction or non-elective reconstruction/correction were excluded from the survey.

The list is based on three data sources:

Peer-to-peer Recommendations
During the survey period from July to August 2024, medical experts with knowledge of plastic surgery (plastic surgeons and medical professionals) were invited to an online survey in cooperation with Newsweek. Participants were asked to name the leading plastic surgery clinics for each cosmetic procedure in Brazil. The order in which recommendations were provided was relevant to the ranking. Self-recommendations resulted in disqualification from the survey. A score was assigned to each plastic surgery clinic based on the number of weighted recommendations. Additionally, the professional experience of the participant was taken into account.

Quality Score
For their recommended clinics, participants were asked to assess the quality of care (e.g., consultation with doctor, complications, follow-up care, outcome) to further differentiate each plastic surgery clinic. For each recommended plastic surgery clinic, the participant rated the quality of care on a scale from 1 ("poor") to 10 ("excellent"). Based on this assessment, a quality score was assigned to each plastic surgery clinic. This score accounts for 15% of the total score.

Certification Score
The Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plastica (SBCP) accreditation is a voluntary credential for plastic surgeons and plastic surgery departments in Brazil. Plastic surgeons certified by the SBCP must have completed extensive training and passed rigorous written and oral examinations, covering a wide range of plastic surgery procedures. Certification by the SBCP ensures the surgeons meet high standards of education, ethics, and clinical practice. The SBCP also accredits plastic surgery departments, requiring strict standards in training, education, and facilities. Plastic surgery departments and plastic surgeons received 5% towards their total score if they have a SBCP certification.

The rankings are comprised exclusively of plastic surgery clinics that are eligible regarding the scope described in this document. The ranking is the result of an elaborate process which, due to the interval of data-collection and analysis, is a reflection of the last 12 months. Furthermore, events preceding or following the period September 18, 2023 – September 18, 2024, and/or pertaining to individual persons affiliated/associated to the facilities were not included in the metrics. As such, the results of this ranking should not be used as the sole source of information for future deliberations. The information provided in this ranking should be considered in conjunction with other available information about plastic surgery clinics or, if possible, accompanied by a visit to the clinic. The quality of plastic surgery clinics that are not included in the rankings is not disputed.
