A drive-by shooting outside a Toronto property owned by Canadian rapper Drake has left one victim badly injured.
The shooting, which happened in the ritzy Bridle Path neighborhood, took place around 2:10 a.m., Toronto police posted on social media.
Officers found a man with "serious injuries" near the corner of Bayview and Lawrence Avenues, and he was taken to the hospital. The victim was a security guard for the rapper, Toronto police confirmed to Newsweek in a statement.
Police said the suspect fled in a vehicle. Officials have not released a description of the alleged shooter or the car.
Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, owns a 50,000 square-foot mansion in Bridle Path, which he frequently posts about online. He has also rapped about living in the wealthy neighborhood in multiple songs.
Drake has been in headlines recently for his feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar, as both keep releasing diss tracks about the other.
Fans recently renamed Drake's Toronto mansion to "2024 Kendrick's House" on Google Maps. It was previously listed as "Owned by Kendrick." The rest of the Bridle Path neighborhood was also changed, with one house named "Zesty Drake," a "Kendrick's Pool" and another called "kendrickownsdrake."
It is unclear if Drake was at his residence during the shooting. He has not posted about the incident on social media as of Tuesday morning.
