LeBron James Takes Shot at Doug Gottlieb After Rough First Season as Coach

Lakers superstar forward LeBron James has a memory like an elephant. He will never forget anything that has been said about him or his family.

That was the case on Monday morning when he took a massive shot at Wisconsin-Green Bay men's basketball coach Doug Gottlieb.

After Gottlieb's team, the Phoenix, snapped a 21-game losing streak Sunday, James didn't waste any time to take a shot at the sports talk radio host and college basketball coach.

James' comments towards Gottlieb come after the college head coach slandered James' son, Lakers rookie guard Bronny James.

A few months ago, Gottlieb called LeBron a "bad basketball parent" and criticized how the Lakers treated Bronny, comparing him to a "Make-A-Wish kid." It is clear that Gottlieb poked a nerve with James, and he couldn't help but keep his mouth shut when it came to taking a shot at him.

Gottlieb also mentioned that Bronny would not even start for his team at Wisconsin-Green Bay.

"He would compete to start," Gottlieb said. "While I like how he moves the ball and defends, he wouldn't be my point guard. My wings are bigger, and without seeing him with us, I think it would be hard for him to start, to be honest."

The 40-year-old superstar usually takes the high road when trolling; however, he decided to scoop down to Gottlieb's level, and for good reason.

Say what you want about James as a basketball player, but as a parent, there is no doubt (at least on the surface) that he is a good father to his children.

When it comes to the Bronny stuff, it is clear that the Lakers did LeBron a solid to draft his son with the No. 55 pick of the 2024 NBA Draft.

Whether Bronny belongs in the league or not is not up to the masses. Although Bronny has improved his game over the last month, he is still far from being a rotation-level player in the NBA, especially for the Lakers, who have championship aspirations.

LeBron has been and will continue to be under a microscope as long as he plays in the league. It is what he signed up for.
