Colombian pop icon Shakira remains hospitalized after an unspecified abdominal issue forced her to cancel a concert in Lima, Peru, on Sunday. The singer, who recently kicked off her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour, informed fans of her condition through an Instagram post, stating that doctors advised against her performing.
"I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I've been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru," she wrote.
Is Shakira Still Hospitalized?
Shakira, 48, revealed on Sunday that she was still under medical care. "The doctors taking care of me have informed me that I'm not in condition to perform a concert tonight," she wrote in an Instagram post.
The singer shared that she was admitted to a hospital in Lima on Saturday night after experiencing abdominal pain.

Shakira's hospitalization came just days after she launched her first world tour in seven years.
She had recently performed in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Brazil, and had been scheduled to perform nearly 50 concerts across Latin America by the end of June.
What Has Shakira Said?
Shakira took to social media to personally address her fans, apologizing for the canceled concert and sharing updates on her health.
"I hope to be better tomorrow and that they discharge me as soon as possible so I'm able to perform the show I've prepared for all of you," she wrote.
She also reassured ticket holders that her team is actively working on rescheduling the performance: "My team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you."
What Can Concertgoers Do?
Fans who purchased tickets for Shakira's canceled concert in Lima can expect a new date to be announced soon. "Thank you all for your understanding, I love you all," she said, signing off her statement with "Shak."
This news comes amid a highly anticipated global tour supporting Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, her first album in seven years. The album won Best Latin Pop Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Shakira's next scheduled concert is set for Monday at Lima's Estadio Nacional, and the singer shared she hopes to be "well" enough to be released from the hospital so that she is "able to perform."
