Why It Matters

New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones told reporters that police believe Foster's attack was targeted at the warehouse, and although he has not been apprehended, they do not believe him to be a threat to the general public, per Fox25.

Foster is described by the NAPD as "6 feet tall, weighing 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes."

What To Know

Foster allegedly opened fire at a cosmetics warehouse on Tuesday night, shortly before 11:00 pm. The warehouse was the KDC/One plant at Smiths Mill Road North in New Albany.

One person was declared dead at the scene. Information on the conditions of the five injured people is not public at this time.

The NAPD told Newsweek that Foster was an employee at KDC/One. A firearm was also recovered at the scene. It is unknown at this time if it was purchased legally.

The other approximately 150 workers present at the warehouse were safely escorted out of the premises, with some not even knowing what had occurred due to the size of the space, per reporting from Fox25.

The workers were held by detectives following the shooting to answer questions about Foster and his potential motivations.

This is the third shooting at a central Ohio warehouse since 2022.

What People Are Saying

New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones said: "This is a heartbreaking and tragic situation. Our officers, alongside multiple agencies, responded swiftly to protect lives and secure the scene.

"We train for situations like this, and while it is something no community ever wants to face, we were prepared to act quickly and effectively. We will continue working to bring this situation to a full resolution."

What Happens Next

At this moment it does not appear that Foster has been apprehended by the police.

The NAPD has asked citizens who have any information and who can assist with the investigation, to contact New Albany Police at 614-855-1234.
