A mom of two has made a public service announcement on social media, urging other parents to stop judging moms who wear makeup.
Emma Hutton, 35, rarely leaves the house without a full face of makeup and her hair done. Yet, this decision seems to be triggering for mothers who don't have the time.
According to a BabyCenter survey, women spent an average of 41 minutes getting ready for the day before motherhood. After having kids, that number dropped to 25 minutes.
Hutton, a nail technician from England, told Newsweek: "I think we get judged because people may think we're spending hours on our appearance instead of spending time with our children. Or maybe they are in awe that we've had time to do it."

However, that isn't the case. Hutton wakes up one hour before her 14-month-old daughter at 5:30 a.m. so she can get ready.
"I set my alarm purposely so I can have an hour of 'me time' in the morning because I know if I look my best, I will then feel my best. Having my makeup on and hair done makes me feel better," she said.
"I have always worn makeup and cared about my appearance, so I don't think that should change just because I'm now a mom."
Her TikTok rant (@emloublogger), shared on February 11, stemmed from a post she saw on social media where one woman was criticizing another and stereotyping her as "one of those moms with a full face of makeup and perfectly curled hair."
Hutton asks, since when do parents judge what kind of mom someone is based on how they look? She goes on to call herself "one of those" moms and reassures that it doesn't affect how she parents.
"I believe every mom should be able to take time out from busy mom life to spend a bit of time on whatever makes her feel good," she told Newsweek.
"I would never judge a mom who doesn't wear makeup, so I don't see why the moms who do wear it are being judged."
She ends the clip that has over 32,000 views by asking if someone who doesn't do their hair and makeup makes them a better mom than she is.
Plenty of women who continue to get dolled up have flocked to the comments to let Hutton know she isn't alone.
"I hate going out without doing my hair and makeup. Like you say, I'd have a crappy day feeling rubbish... I love seeing moms who look done up on school runs. It also shows they're happy and motivated," said one user.
Another wrote: "It's more about their own insecurities than about 'one of those moms.' We should all just appreciate that everyone is different."
A third user chimed in: "We shouldn't be judging us moms. We should be supporting one another regardless, because its one of the hardest jobs. You look gorgeous btw! Some days I have myself done up, some days I look a mess."
